Learning Options
The IIA's CIA Learning System is flexible and effective as a self-study CIA review program, but it can be combined with live or virtual instruction for those who prefer an interactive classroom approach to learning. For optimal preparation, we encourage you to take advantage of the self-directed and instructor-led options.
Self-Study Format
The self-study program includes printed review materials and interactive online software to give you the freedom to study where and when it’s convenient for you. Instructor-Led Courses
The instructor-led courses combine The IIA's CIA Learning System print and online components with the leadership of a qualified instructor. Choose from Comprehensive Instructor-led Courses, CIA Refresher Seminars, or Virtual Seminars.
- Comprehensive Instructor-led Courses: Offered by select chapters, international institutes, and colleges/universities, these CIA review courses provide an in-depth study of all related CIA topics in an online or traditional classroom format. These CIA courses offer instructor interaction, peer collaboration, company networking, and a structured, set schedule to keep participants on track. Learn more. Classes offered.
- CIA Refresher Seminars: This series of four CIA Refresher Seminars is designed for CIA candidates who have already completed The IIA's CIA Learning System self-study and/or classroom course. These live and online seminars will reinforce your CIA knowledge, clarify topics, and build exam-day confidence. Taught by CIA-certified instructors, each seminar is customized to meet class needs based on a mandatory pre-class knowledge assessment. Learn more. Classes offered.
- Virtual Seminars: In addition to the traditional classroom format, The IIA will be offering the comprehensive instructor-led course via a virtual classroom in 2011. This virtual classroom will allow you to participate with others in a series of live, instructor-led training sessions in preparation for the CIA exam. You can complete this training on your home or office computer. The virtual CIA course consists of 12 sessions, meeting three times per week over four weeks.
